MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL INAUGURATES 500-BED ASENSO MEDICAL CENTER
OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental — Misamis Occidental formally inaugurated its 500-bed Asenso Misamis Occidental Medical Center (AMOMC) on Thursday, November 5, marking a major milestone in the province’s efforts to expand access to modern and quality healthcare.
The inauguration was held as part of the province’s 97th Provincial Anniversary celebration, highlighting the provincial government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare services and improving medical facilities for Misamisnons.
The hospital features modern medical facilities, diagnostic and laboratory services, operating rooms, and specialized oncology and cancer care services designed to address a wider range of healthcare needs.
Special Assistant to the President Antonio Ernesto Lagdameo Jr. served as the guest of honor and speaker during the ceremony.
Also gracing the event was Miss Philippines Worldwide and Misamis Occidental Ambassador of Goodwill Nicole Borromeo, who joined provincial officials and guests in celebrating the inauguration of the provincial medical facility.
A key highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the hospital’s PhilHealth accreditation by PhilHealth Region 10 Vice President Henry V. Almanon.
The accreditation marks an important step in integrating AMOMC into the national health insurance system, allowing eligible patients to access applicable PhilHealth benefits and coverage, subject to existing requirements.
With its 500-bed capacity and specialized medical services, AMOMC is expected to strengthen the province’s healthcare infrastructure and expand access to medical treatment, including specialized care for patients with cancer.
The inauguration stands as one of the significant milestones in Misamis Occidental’s 97th Provincial Anniversary celebration, underscoring the importance of investing in healthcare facilities and services to improve the well-being of its residents.
